"Turning up to a cycling group for the very first time can feel strangely nerve-wracking. Will everyone be faster than me? Will I hold them up? Will I even know where to stand? If those little worries have kept you from coming along, let us walk you through exactly what happens on your first Saturday club ride, so you can arrive relaxed and leave grinning."

When and Where we meet
Our club rides run every Saturday morning, and they are completely free. There is nothing to sign up for and no fee to pay. You simply come along. We gather at Coliwoo Lutheran, and we roll out at 8am, so aim to arrive fifteen minutes early to say hello and get your bike ready.
That early start is a gift, not a hardship. Singapore is at its coolest and calmest first thing on a Saturday, the roads are quiet, and you are usually home with the rest of your weekend still ahead of you. Come as you are, on whatever Brompton you own, and if you do not have one yet, just message us beforehand and we will sort something out.

What to Expect: Pace and Group Size
Here is the reassurance you are really after. The pace is easy and social, not a race. We ride at a relaxed, conversational speed, the kind where you can chat to the person beside you without gasping.
If that sounds too good to be true, it is simply how we do things. The whole point of a club ride is the company and the enjoyment, not the numbers on anyone's bike computer.

The group is small and friendly rather than a daunting peloton, and it is very much a no-drop ride. That means nobody gets left behind. We regroup at junctions and stops, so the faster riders always wait, and you will never find yourself alone or lost. On your first morning you will almost certainly discover that you are not the slowest, and that even if you were, not a single soul would mind. This is a Singapore social cycling group in the truest sense, built on warmth rather than speed.

How the Marshals look after new riders
You are never on your own out there. Our rides are led by experienced marshals who position themselves through the group, one setting a gentle pace at the front, another sweeping at the back so no rider is ever behind the last marshal. They guide you through junctions, keep an eye on traffic, help with any small mechanical hiccup, and quietly stay close to whoever is newest. If you are unsure about anything, you simply ask, and someone who has done this a hundred times is right there to help.
If you would like an even gentler start, ask us about a confidence ride first. It is a short, one-to-one session where our founder Eugene teaches you bike handling from the very beginning and helps you feel ready before you join the Saturday group. Plenty of our happiest riders began exactly this way, and there is no shame and no rush in starting there.

It is a morning out, not a workout
A club ride is as much a social occasion as a bit of exercise. Most mornings include a relaxed coffee or breakfast stop, where the real magic happens. Strangers become friends over a flat white, tips are swapped, laughter is had, and the ride home always feels easier for it. Bring water, a helmet, and a little curiosity. Everything else takes care of itself. This free cycling club in Singapore is, at heart, a community that happens to ride bikes.
From Saturday morning to faraway roads
Here is the lovely secret of our weekly cycling group in Singapore. These gentle Saturday rides are where overseas adventures quietly begin. Week by week, almost without noticing, you build the fitness and the confidence that make an overseas tour feel not just possible, but easy. And you meet the people you will one day travel with.
Many of our guests in Japan, Taiwan and Europe first met one another on an ordinary Saturday morning right here at home.
So when you feel ready to see the world from the saddle, you will already know the ropes, and you will already have friends going with you. The club ride is the on-ramp to everything else we do, and it costs you nothing but a pleasant morning.
The hardest part is deciding to come the first time. After that, we suspect we will be seeing you every Saturday. Come and join the Brompton Experiences club, and let us show you how good a Saturday can be.
